Say you made SE account #1 when you bought the game, if you played it at all, that means you had used the CD-key to link FFXIV to SE account #1. It all seems to point to you not using the same SE account as you did before. Originally posted by Asphe:Yes, someone is using your CD-Key.

It's asking for the cd after I enter my login and password on the ff14 launcher Otherwise, in the Mogstation, it should show your game accounts (click on 'Your Account / Account' and look for 'Final Fantasy XIV 1', if you can see that, you have a FFXIV game registered to that SE account). Look, you've reinstalled the game/etc, but do you have an active subscription to the game? Check in the Mogstation? If not, it's probably thinking you're trying to register a new account/game/etc. The only time I've been asked is during account creation and/or registering the game to an account. It really shouldn't even ask you for it during a reinstall, at least I never encountered it.
It's ONLY used to register/link the game to your SE account.

The CD-key / game code is usable only once. You're going to redownload/repatch to the latest version. I just did a file integrity check and it's saying there were 44 files missing and it's downloading them now, so maybe that will fix it. And I'm using the account that's linked to my email that I use for everything. I can log in to those accounts, but even on Mog station and Square Enix it says my key is already in use, yet it's not registered to my account. To register a NEW game key, which looks like you have already done so, depends if you are holding the EU or US version, then you would need to go to the proper US or EU square-enix site, but to login, I think the login portal is universal.
Your game key should already registered in your account on the secure.square-enix link.
